July 2009archive

My son seems turned into Shiman-chu (islander), and we really had a great time thanks to their warm welcome.
Now my son sounds like speaking their language as well.
Kids are fast learners.
Kids become easily open-minded when they are with an open-minded person.
It is very important to open one's heart.
We should try to reach them rather than just waiting for them approaching.
One of the island brothers are looking at the solar eclipse with modern? sunglesses.

The island kids are having shaved ices in the subdued light.
It was really a wonderful trip finding everyone and everything lovely and finding happiness inside me eventually.

Amami's ocean is really beautiful!
And my son doesn't believe this is Japan.
Actually, you can easily encounter many people from other countries here.
And the beach was once used as a road, and at that time it was a place for gathering and meeting.

Blue eyes, brown hair, tall body height are the characteristics of Amami people...
Other than the physical characteristics, they exchanged mind and soul.
In other words, they don't have an idea of alienation.
They accept each other.
It's a wonderful island.
My son created an art with fallen leaves on the beach.
And made friends with anyone anytime!

Snapped this photo in front of the Three Moon Rocks, my son's favorite place.
It is said that it was once a sacred area for God beyond the Three Moon Rocks.
Son: I wonder how God comes to this place.
Mother: Might be riding on something.
Son: Banana boat?
Mother: ...
I returned from Amami...
And found this in the sink at my office!
I couldn't do anything but screamed!

The force of nature is unbelievable.
Did you have any similar experiences???
Please tell me your stories.
I wonder this is also because of the solar eclipse...but...
It's shocking enough, just looking at this picture, right?
Did this make you scream, didn't it?
The biggest natural phenomenon of this century, total eclipse of the sun...
I'm looking up silently in the sky with my son, standing on the land of my ancestry, Amami.
The world will end...and begin again...

I stayed over a night at my son's nursery school.
I joined their play, a role getting possessed by a witch.
It was hectic but fun as well.
The usual night event!?
Watermelon splitting game.
Everyone was enjoying it.
But... the watermelon looked somewhat lonely to me.

The witch's henchman is a horse!?

What would four-five years old kids remind from the experience in a night forest?
Courage test...
Scary!
But the boys held the crying girls' hands...
They are sweet!
The grubs that I showed you here the other day have successfully turned to beetles.
My son is delighted.
Wonderful.
Wonderful.
Life is...
Female ones haven't become adult... are they alright?

I'm in Paris...
I cannot enjoy Tanabata in Japan...
With seven hours time difference, I'm looking up into the sky by the Seine.
Then, a strip for wish was delivered from my son in Nara.
"I wanna go to the peach world again in April"
Is it what he's writing???
Seems he's living in a dream world.
What's peach world?
And, why April?
Tell me somebody, please!
