bean - Nara Craftsman Fair -

October 4 (Sat) & 5 (Sun) 2008 - Nara Centennial Hall

It sprouts from Nara.

Nara, the ancient capital of Japan, will welcome 1300 years since its establishment. From the land where the Tenpyo culture flowered as a terminal point of the Silk Road, a new culture is about to be born.
The "bean" is a sprouted event in which young creators, who shape the Nara's future for the next hundred and thousand years, get together. Creators in a variety of fields (film, food, craftwork, etc.) get beyond their daily activities and gather in the Nara Centennial Hall. The craft fair will be held by such creators who have the feelings of love toward Nara.

In this year's event, we will organize a symposium for the ongoing project of Nara International Film Festival in 2010, inviting a guest from overseas. Furthermore, Kawase Naomi's representative works "The Mourning Forest" (with English subtitle) and "Shara" (Japanese language only) will be screened as a pre-event for the Festival,
with an optional bus tour of visiting the shooting locations of the Mourning Forest.
